About the project

Our first project was a new school in Ghana for children under 15 years old. We as Rio Lightning LLC discovered that the existing schools are severely lacking in basic supplies of educational tools like stationary, mathematical equipment, and classroom equipment.

How we started

The first step to understand the scope of the project was to learn what shaped a child’s learning experience in Ghana and to find out how we could make improvements.

Support from local communities

Location, scale, and accessibility was absolutely crucial to this project. We wanted to make the biggest but most realistic impact to the educational landscape in Ghana.

Conclusion

Contextualizing the needs of Ghanian school children, their parents, and their educators helped us to construct a well-equipped, bright, and accessible place of learning.
